The effectiveness of any training program is directly related to how hard you work – not necessarily how LONG you work.
And how hard you work is directly related to how much oxygen you consume (aka how hard you are breathing).
So if you are walking on the treadmill, watching the latest television show, and barely breathing hard…. you are not working hard enough.
If you are spending hours in the gym and not seeing results, there are a variety of things that may be going on.
? 1 – It may be because you are not putting forth enough effort.
If you are not actually completing your workout or not pushing yourself hard enough in your workout, you may not be putting forth enough effort. Embrace the “work” in workout.
? 2 – Your body has adapted to your workouts and needs a change.
Your body is efficient and, over time, will burn less calories doing the same thing…. So you will need to work harder and/or change things up in order to burn more calories.
? 3 – Your diet needs to be cleaned up!!!
If you are full or stuffed more than you are hungry, you may be overeating.
If you are eating pre-packaged foods or running through the drive-through more often than not, you are probably not choosing the healthiest choices.
If you don’t eat vegetables every day… start! 😉
If you deprive yourself… stop. It leads to overeating.
If you don’t want to spend hours in the gym and need a little help and support with ANY of these areas above – or all – I would love to work with you. I help busy individuals finally reach their weight loss goals, while working out and eating well, in less time. Leave a comment or shoot me a DM and I will reach out!
